After team members trickeled in of over the past week, the 2013 excavtion at Çatalhöyük began two days ago, as the site gets cleaned up and prepared for the new season.
Excavation in the South area begins, as the team cleans up exposed buildings for the new season.
The conservation team goes to work on Building 96 (foreground) and Building 80 gets a cleaning.
The Northeast corner under the North Shelter gets clean in preparation for excavation.

Cafe Çatalhöyük, out of service for now, awaits a new opening soon. So hopes a large team that will be in desperate need of ice cream, soda, and crisps (aka chips) to get them through the season.
